Mary Elizabeth Ann Plumlee Mitchell passed away in 1899. She was about 43 years of age.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in 1856 to Robert Mays Plumlee and Anna Elizabeth Bell Plumlee, in Neosho, Newton County, Missouri. She was the fifth of seven children born to this union, and the first Plumlee child to pass.
She was united in marriage to Dennis Coleman Mitchell around 1872 in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. Mr. Mitchell survives Mary. They were married about 27 years. To their union were born six children: daughter Martha Elizabeth Mitchell, son William Franklin Mitchell, son Jefferson Mitchell, son James Edward Mitchell, son Robert Mitchell, and son Henry Denton Mitchell. The couple also adopted a family cousin Thomas Kirkinclile.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Martha Elizabeth Mitchell, son William Franklin Mitchell, son Jefferson Mitchell, son James Edward Mitchell, son Robert Mitchell, son Henry Denton Mitchell, step-son Thomas Kirkinclile, sister Martha Elizabeth Plumlee McCarty, sister Sarah Gemina Plumlee Dodson, brother James Monroe Plumlee, sister Caroline Louisa Plumlee, brother Elisha Jack Plumlee, brother William L. Plumlee, step-sister Laura Victoria Plumlee Barnes, step-brother Robert Plumlee, step-sister Florence Ann Plumlee Tabor, and step-sister Elva Alice Plumlee Tabor.
