Glenda E. Gaunt, 72, Peru, passed away at 1:56 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

She was born April 8, 1935 in Rector, Ark. to Riley and Bertha (Morris) McMahan. She married Kirby J. Gaunt Sept. 8, 1956, and he preceded her in death Aug. 30, 2000.

Glenda was a homemaker and member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She graduated from Clay Township High School in 1953. She loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prior to their deaths, Mr. and Mrs. Gaunt were active in the Peru Amateur Circus.

Survivors include four daughters, Rena Walker and husband Roger, Darhonda Daily and husband Gary, and Kim Brooks and husband Chris, and Karen March and husband Dave, all of Peru; five grandchildren, Mya Dawn Daily, Derrick Daily, Kayla Bradley, Tyler Brooks and Brodie Brooks; two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Jacob Bowman; two brothers, Homer McMahan and wife Barb, Michigan, and Granville McMahan and wife Trudy, Florida; two sisters, Marilyn "Deb" Pearson, Peru, and Catherine Cochran, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Evelyn McMahan, Peru; and several dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Brittney Brooks; two brothers, Wayne and Clay McMahan; and two sisters, Rose Presson and Floy Hamm.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kenneth Greenwald officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru. Pastor Andy Weil will assist at the gravesite.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru.
