Descendant of Lieut. Daniel Leffingwell:
Parents: Samuel L Hyde (1807-1861) m. Harriet T. Brewer (1812-1904)
Grandparents: John Hyde (1773-1848), m. 1798 Sarah R. Leffingwell (1778-1865)
Great grandparents: Daniel Leffingwell (1752-1778) m. 1772, Elizabeth Whiting (1750-1831). Daniel served as Lieutenant in Col. John Ely's regiment of State troops, 1777. He was born and died in Norwich, Conn.

The Leffingwell family goes back to Sgt Thomas Leffingwell born in England in 1624 and died in Norwich CT in 1714. He was one of a group of  founders of Norwich CT in 1659
