Addie Heggins Nunn was born on September 7th, 1937, in Wake County, NC. To the late Lucille and Brookes Heggins. Addie departed on Monday, December 16th, 2019, at home, surrounded by her family.

She attended Wake County Public Schools. At an early age, she joined White Oak Baptist Church. After moving to Chapel Hill, she was united in Holy Matrimony with the late James Nunn Jr on January 2nd, 1957. Soon after, she joined Barbee's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, now known as Barbee's Chapel Harvest Word Church and Ministries. As an active member in the church, she was on the mother's ministry, a member of the executive council, a trustee, head of the usher's ministry, member of the kitchen committee, member of the senior choir, a missionary, member of women's ministry and a member of the Randolph Chapter #185 Order of the Eastern Star, Chapel Hill. Addie was a passionate caregiver and was loved by all of her patients and their families. Her career spans fifty years as private duty CNA, which includes three retirements. She worked up until November 2019.

To this union, four children were born: Anthony Wayne Nunn, preceding her in death, Angela Gail Nunn, Jennifer Nunn Williamson, and Roderick Darnell Nunn of Durham, NC. She has four grandchildren: Dominique Graham, LaMarcus Graham, Angela Williamson, Rebecca Graham, and four great-grandchildren. She has three sisters: Verselle Shaw, Juanita Wilson, and Josephine Steward, of Durham, NC. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
