Allen Morgan Youngblood was the second child and first born son of Thomas P. Youngblood and Elizabeth J. Bagley. He was born on 21 August 1849 in Jefferson County, Alabama and died on 3 February 1935 in his son Edward's home in Ft. Worth. Allen outlived his wife Martha by 34 years.
Allen's father Thomas was an early Tarrant County settler. According to Allen's Ft. Worth Star Telegram obituary dated 4 February 1935, he first arrived in the Grapevine area of Texas in 1868. Other sources indicate the family probably arrived in 1867.
About 1870, Allen married Martha Ann Gray who was born in September 1846 in Carroll County, Mississippi. She was the fourth child and only known daughter of Hiram Arthur Gray and Martha Ann Smith. The Grays were also very early Tarrant County settlers, arriving in the area about 1859 from Mississippi. Martha had three older brothers (William F., James F. and Henry T.
