Jean Amarylis Steed Langford, 73, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016. Memorial service: 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at 5336 Quail Run Street, Fort Worth, 76107. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jean's name to the animal shelter of your choice. She was born Aug. 14, 1942, in Laird Hill to Claxton and Virginia Steed. Jean was one of the first female computer programmers in Texas. She was an avid cat lover and avid reader of science fiction and mystery novels. She loved spending time with her daughter and two grandsons. She lived in Fort Worth until 2013 when she moved to Austin to be closer to her family. Survivors: Her daughter, Claire Langford Stevens; son-in-law, Otis Stevens; grandsons, Beau and Phoenix; sister, Claxene Jay of Jacksonville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed more than words can express.
