Mr. Segal was a distinguished trial attorney in Hartford for many years, a legal lecturer, and, in his quest to advance the science of jurisprudence, he authored many articles. During his formative years, he attended school in the Hartford area and attended Boston University, where he received his academic and law degrees, and was awarded the Juris Doctor Degree from Boston University. Mr. Segal was admitted as an attorney to the Bars of the states of Connecticut and Virginia, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where he practiced criminal law. He was also admitted to the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He was past ' president of the Hartford County Bar Association, the Connecticut and American Bar Association, the American Judicature Society, and was on the Board of Governors of the American Trial Lawyers Association. He also served as past president of the Connecticut chapter of ATLA and was its national executive editor of Amicus Curiae. Mr. Segal was also a Fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He was a member of Scribes, the American Society of Writers on legal subjects and received recognition, for his meritorious writing.
His authorship had also been acknowledged by a Joint Committee on the Continuing Education of the American Law Institute and several articles had been published in The Practical Lawyer.
Mr. Segal served his country with pride and distinction during World War II and was a captain in the U.S. Air Force where he served in the North African Theatre of Operations.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lilian Kelly Segal of West Hartford.
