Brother to William 'Marshall' Atkinson.
Marvin was only 19 when he passed at the Ridgeway Hospital in Royston....eleven days after he broke his neck in a swimming accident.
Marvin was with several friends above the Atkinson Bridge in Middle River when he dove in & hit his head.
Marvin was popular among friends and was the president of his class at the Franklin County High School. He was a leader & very active in school.
Marvin was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church & took an interest in Sunday school & church work.
The church could only hold about half of those that came to attend his funeral.
Pallbearers were cousin of Marvin;
Clyde Cash, Eldridge & Harvey Atkinson, George & Harvey Macomson, & Ray Adams.
Flower girls were also cousins;
Laverne, Ruby, Helen, Mary Cash, Ethel, Idell, & Dathon Atkinson, Mildred Macomson, & Doshaphee Cheek.
