In 1905, they traveled in five covered wagons and a buggy (along with their children), from Bell County, TX, and settled in Haskell County, TX, in the area which was called the Rose Community. They called it Rose after son-in-law Jim Rose, because he donated the land for the one room schoolhouse. *The journey to Haskell, from my grandmother Lillian (Henshaw) Spinks.
Mr Henshaw was a farmer. Haskell County is known for it's cotton.
