Bob was born on July 21 1955 to Jay Porter and Meriba Jane (Smith) McWilliams in Kansas City, Kansas. Bob was born and raised in Wyandotte County. He attended and graduated from Wyandotte High School with the Class of 1973. Bob worked for the water district for nearly 20 years before changing careers and became a truck driver until he just recently retired after 20 plus years.
Bob was a sports fanatic and loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a Kansas City Chiefs football fan and a huge Kansas University basketball fan. He was very active and always on the go, Bob would not sit still. He stayed busy when his children were young by helping out on the Wyandotte Baseball Field Committee and even helped coach. Bob loved the fresh air and would do anything he could to spend the day outdoors. Bob was an amazing man and loved by so many, he will be dearly missed.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Porter and Meriba Jane (Smith) McWilliams.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory is children; daughter, Megan (Sean) McWilliams and son, Brent McWilliams; his grandsons, Cooper McWilliams, Parker McWilliams, and Aiden Sydnor; and sister, Shelley Ann King.
