Helen, 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2020. She was born to Charles and Esther (McCormick) Pett.

Helen was a loving mother and grandmother. She was active in her community and church, loved volunteering at the MSU Extension Outreach, 4H, and the Crystal Herb Society. She was a kindergarten teacher for many years, and instilled in her children and grandchildren a lifelong love of learning and volunteering.

Surviving are her two children; Sue Aagaard and Richard (Ruth) Aagaard; two grandchildren, Donny Miller and Rick Aagaard; great grandchild, Vanessa (Dalton) Carroll; great-great grandson, Jayce; and many other friends and family who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Ruth (Keith) Huyck, Jean (John) Olson, Verna (Larry) Stockford, and Phyllis (George) Hall.

A private burial was held Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Crystal Cemetery. Due to their current global pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "All that Flutters," an educational bird habitat and pollinator garden on the campus of Montcalm Community College.
