Born March 29, 1896 in Alvarado, TX to E.M. Williams & Maude (Oliver) Williams. She married David Archie Jones on December 27, 1914 in Alvarado, TX. He preceded her in death September 12, 1972 in Haskell. David operated a shoe repair service for many years and in 1954 they bought the Modern News Stand in Haskell and they both operated it until retiring in 1971.
Maude & David had one son Archie Lee Jones born March 20, 1921, when they lived in Alvarado, TX.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include son, Archie Lee Jones of Haskell.
One brother, Wiley Williams of Albany, TX and one sister Brucie Rogers of San Angelo. She was preceded in death by two brothers and her parents M/M Williams. According to dates Maude's mother must have died when she was born since it is the same year.
Pallbearers were Charles Swenson, Ray Perry, Raja Hassen, Kenneth Alvis, Roy Pittman, Kenny Turner, Doyle High and Pat Hale. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Bible Class.
