Memorial services for John Jacinto Mayo, Merced area rancher and cattleman, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Chapel.Rev. Charles Hoffmeister, Merced Community Medical Center chaplain, will conduct the services for Mr. Mayo who died Thursday in a Merced hospital.

Mr. Mayo was born June 12, 1901 in San Jose and lived in Merced 30 years. He was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and the Merced-Mariposa Stock Horse Association. He was a horse show judge and judged shows in California and Nevada.

Survivors include his wife, Abigail Mayo of Merced; two daughters, Marjorie Bennington of Le Grand, and Barbara Murphy of Reno, Nev.; two brothers, Adolph Mayo of San Jose, and Henry Mayo of Hollister; two sisters, Bea Morris of Santa Clara, and Martha Machado of San Jose; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
