Infant son of William James 'Billy & Eliza Jane (Hood) Self.
09.12.2018 ~ this info concerning the burial location of this baby boy and his mom Eliza is from a message from a first cousin, Laura Daniels Shelton.
"The primary reason I believe it is Scott County is because that is where Grandpa Tom told Mommy she was buried. He was 12 when she died, and would have had a good memory of the whole experience. Secondly, when Mommy made the cemetery record with Grandpa and George Watson, no grave was marked as either Eliza or the baby. Grandpa would have known where his grandmother was buried. Lastly, I don't have any record that Eliza or any of the Hoods ever lived in Newton County. I do have a deed from William and Annie Dalton to Jackson Self for land in Scott County. I believe that Billie Self left Newton County for a time to live on that land and met Eliza there. Her parents were in the Mount Pleasant area of Scott County until at least 1900 when they moved on to Oklahoma. I believe Billie returned to Newton County after she died, where he very quickly married Grandpa Watson's sister. I have been in contact with caretakers from a few cemeteries in Scott County where I think she might be. There are a lot of unmarked graves there as well as people with the name of Self and Hood. "
