Ernest Leo Gann
1945 - 2020
Ernest Leo Gann was born April 13, 1945 in Licking, MO and passed away May 24, 2020 at Osage Beach, MO.
Before joining the military, Ernest worked as a hardwood flooring installer at Fort Leonard Wood with his uncle for several years. He was a disabled veteran who served tours of duty both in Korea and Vietnam. In 1966, shortly after his discharge from the Army, Ernest was involved in a motorcycle accident which left him with reduced motor skills. Using grit and determination, he surpassed all the doctors’ expectations of his recovery and went on to effectively manage his life. As John Wayne would have said, “He was a tough hombre”, as it applied to all areas of his life.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Albert Gann, Hubert Gann and Willard Gann; Albert Gann; his sisters, Leona Mallett, Donna Caballero, Linda Sue Gann and Mamie Ingraham.

Ernest is survived by his brothers, Thomas (Carolyn) Gann, Steger, IL., David Ralph (Lucy) Gann, Warsaw, MO; Nick (Tamara) Gann, Conway, MO; Larry (Molly) Gann, St. James, MO; sisters, Gloria Lurvey, Nixa, MO; Vickey (Bill) Stackhouse, Platte City, MO; Lura Mackey, St. Ann MO; Lucy Wahlforth, Tonganoxie, KS; Tami Davis-Daniel, Platte City, MO. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
