Born in Rhode Island he moved to Connecticut at an early age and lived for a long time in Niantic. He worked for his father's saw mill for awhile, then he worked for the State Of Connecticut at the State Corrections facility in Niantic. He was a farmer. He married Gladys Pearl Daniels in 1912 and they had three children. He died at the Thames Valley Cancer Center in Norwich, he was 89.
