He was born on November 6, 1962 to Rolland W. and Gloria A. Coursey Barr. He was born in Monmouth, IL and raised in Macomb, IL.
He graduated from Macomb High School and attended Western Illinois University. He had resided in St. Augsustine, Florida, a city he loved, for the past 18 years. He enjoyed the beach, fishing, golfing, and was an avid reader and Jaguar football fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rolland, his paternal grandfather, and maternal grandfather and grandmother.
He is survived by his mother, Gloria of Macomb and two brothers and their families; Brian and wife Debbie, their children, Tucker, Maddie, and Jacob of Denver, CO and John (J.C.) and wife Kari, their children, Ashley, Breawna and Skyler of Renton, WA.
Additionally, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Mildred Crookham of Galesburg, IL and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
