Mrs. Jane Lois (Tormey) Kilroy, age 88, of Lynn died at her home on Tuesday September 19, 2017. She was the wife of the late Bernard Joseph Kilroy. Born in Gardner she was the daughter of the late Dana and Lois Tormey. She was raised in Lynn, and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School class of 1947 where she was a member of Stage Drama Club and was also voted as Classical Senior with the Winning Personality. Jane worked for a total of 32 years as a telephone operator for NE Telephone in Lynn and Boston, where she was also a member of the IBEW. She was proud of her essential employee status during the blizzard of 78 which allowed her to go to work and help many people with telephone issues. She had also worked as a nurses aide, nanny, mothers helper, and at Connellys Candies. An avid gardener, she enjoyed classic films and reading poetry. She had sung at Jordan Hall in Lynn with Alice Farnsworth and Percy Graham. Jane loved spending time at her condo in Lakeworth Florida. She had fond memories of the many years that she and her family spent camping at MI-Te-Jo campground in Milton, NH. She was a strong advocate of the City of Lynn and all that the city had to offer. Jane will be remembered for her kind ways, especially with the elderly. She is survived by 2 daughters; Karen J. Greene and her husband Raymond of Essex, and Nancy L. Kilroy of Lynn, twin grandsons; Tristan and Jeffrey French of Lynn, a sister-in-law Dorothea Nagle Tormey of Nashua, NH, and many cousins, and nieces and nephews, including Laurie Tormey-Brandin of Utah and John Tormey of Fitchburg. She was also the sister of the late Thomas Dana Tormey.
