William Vetterkind, 39, route 3, Cadott, drowned Sunday in the Eau Claire River three miles northeast of Fall Creek.

Mr. Vetterkind was born on March 22, 1933, in Withee, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and married Betty Green in March of 1959. She died in 1964.

He is survived by his mother; two brothers, Holley, Greenwood, and Ernest, Abbotsford; and two sisters, Mrs. James Seliskar of Greenwood and Mrs. Charles Hinke of Colby.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, with the Reverend Edwin Becker officiating. Burial was in the Cadott Cemetery. Military services were conducted by the Cadott American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars posts.
