Nancy was a poet and novelist, and sister of the better-known Elinor Wylie whose novels were widely popular in the 1920s and 1930s.

Nancy was to marry Lieut. Frederick Wiseman-Clarke of the British Royal Navy in June 1923 in Washington, D.C. They had even taken out a marriage license, but Nancy called off the wedding the afternoon before it was to take place. In 1926 she married Gerald Wynn Wynne at St George's Church in London. They divorced not long after their marriage. Nancy then married Edward Davison Curtis; they made their home in New York City. She left him a few years later and went to Reno for a quick divorce, which took place in 1932.

Nancy and Edward had one daughter:
1. Anne Edwina, b. 10 Jun 1928 in Paris, France, d. 5 Nov 1996 in Bandol, Var, France. She married first, Barnet "Barney" Samuel Rubinstein, and married second, _____ Schiffer.
