HEADLEY, EDITH (OKES)
age 85, of Anna Maria, FL on March 3. Edie was born April 19, 1920 in St. Paul to Day and Irma Okes, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Knight Headley, of St. Paul and Belmont, MA; son, Jonathan, of Cambridge, MA; sisters Josephine Graves and Mary Thompson. Edie is survived by her son, Geoffrey, of Houston, TX; daughter, Meredith (Gerry) Slavin, of Anna Maria, FL; sister, Marjorie Urban, of Tucson, AZ; grandsons Daniel Headley, Graham and Jonathan Bull; and three great-grandchildren. Edie was raised in St. Paul and attended UM until her marriage in 1942. Prior to relocating to Massachusetts in 1955 Edie was active in the Junior League in St. Paul and participated in many other social and civic activities. She realized her dream when she finally settled in Anna Maria, FL in 1999. Edie will be deeply missed by her family and many friends whose lives she touched. A memorial service is planned in the near future to take place in Massachusetts, where her ashes will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in Mt. Auburn cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
