My Grandfather Ludwig Sowa came over on the ship from Bremen, Germany 1906 by himself first.. he had lived in Leipzig, Germany with my Grandmother Sophie Detzer Sowa I believe he was originally from Austria-Bavaria-Poland in a town called Dolega..they had 4 daughters 1st one Helen died as an infant..Maria was the eldest that stayed with my Great Grandmother in Leipzig and Harriet (Hedwig) was only 4 when she came to the USA with my Grandmother Sophie...My Mother was born in Chicago USA.
