John was the son of Charles Daniel Kresge and Linda (Leymeister) Kresge. On July 22, 1937 he married Dorothy H. McLean, daughter of Thompson and Clara D. (Hoppes) McLean. Rev. Wilbur Moyer.
John and Dorothy were owners of Wos-Wit Farm and Wos-Wit Pennsylvania Dutch Foods Processing Plant in Lehighton RD2. He was an accomplished musician and had his own bands including the Ben Salem Band 1951-1954, John Krege's Variety Band 1954-1965 and Mahoning Valley Band 1966-1981.
John held many offices of the Kresge Family Reunion which was held at the West End Fair in Gilbert. He was a Vice President 1950-52, President 1953-1958 and 1968-1973. John was Honorary President 1974-1981.
