Gordon was born in Toronto, Ontario. The youngest son of Robert Rutledge and Annie Dicks, who died when he was very young.
Gordon married Gladys Marion Compton and moved to Vancouver, BC after the birth of their first 2 children.
After the death of my Grandma, he married a wonderful lady - Grandma Mabel and they were together until his death in 1993, at the age of 91.
