He was born in East Loop, Hollidaysburg, son of Charles and Irene Weld Shoop. He married Lutitia W. "Tish" Wertz. Surviving are his wife; six sons: Ron, Jack, Ken, Joe, Ritche and Bill; two daughters: Ruth and PJ; three brothers: Robert, James and Charles; three sisters: Jesse, Vera and Velma; 24 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cleo Shoop. He was a graduate of Hollidaysburg Senior High School, class of 1943. Ever since he was a little boy and all the rest of his life, he enjoyed farming and his family.
