Margaret (Shiels) Newton, 93, of Norfolk, died Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Charlwell House in Norwood. She was the beloved wife of Paul R. Newton who died in 1992.
Born in Medfield on September 11, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Jessica (McFadden) Shiels.
Mrs. Newton was a resident of Norfolk for the past 3 years and had formerly resided in Medway for many years. She grew up in Medfield and graduated from Medfield High School.
She worked as a secretary at her husband’s business, Paul R. Newton Excavating for many years and had previously worked at the Medfield Post Office.
She is survived by her son Paul F. Newton and his wife Jane of Norfolk and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late James, Peter and Leo Shiels and Mary Whitney.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, November 14 at 10 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
