Bob grew up in Richmond, IN and finished high school in Indianapolis, IN. Bob was a straight A student and enrolled in evening classes at IU, while working full time at RCA. In 1942 he met his wife, Marybelle, at RCA. In January of 1943 they married and Bob enlisted in the US Army Air. Marybelle followed him to Texas and Glendale, CA as he went through officer’s training. Bob was the lead navigator for a B-24, stationed in the Pacific, during WW II. When Bob was released from the US Army Air, he decided to attend Perdue University, earning a BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
During his early career Bob and family lived in New Jersey, Indianapolis, IN, Buffalo, NY and Batavia, NY. In New York Bob was an Electrical Engineer in television manufacturing. When he decided to transfer in 1957 within GTE Sylvania to Mt. View, CA, he worked in the Aerospace industry. His distinguished career includes being a member of the design team of the Patriot Missile. He received an award from President Regan for this achievement. Bob and Marybelle were world travelers, avid Giants fans and art collectors. (Marybelle passed away in 2011.)
