Celverster Grover "Cy, Tike" Butler passed away on June 1, 2020. He was born on September 12, 1938, the son of Sybil Victoria (Mounts) Butler-Adkins and Kelly Wade Butler.

Cy served honorably in the United States Navy from 1955-1964, on the 'USS Gunston Hall' and 'USS Spiegel Grove'. He then served as machinist at NAVORDSTA, in Indian Head, MD; as an industrial specialist, for NAVAIR at the Navy Yard, in Washington, D.C., and in Patuxent River, MD. After retiring, he worked for a few years with several Navy contractors.

He was an ordained Southern Baptist Deacon, a Baptist Men's Ministry leader, and a discipleship Bible teacher. He was also a Men's Sunday School teacher for many years.

Cy was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bruce Alan Butler; and mother-in-law, Emogene Preston.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diana (Preston) Butler; one daughter, Sandi (Mike) Junge; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Jeffrey and Amanda Junge, Jessica, Grayson and Weston Butler; one great-grandchild, Connor Junge; four sisters, Phyllis June (Lewis) Mandley, Vicky Lynn (Tiny) Howard, Pat (Jack) Peddicord, and Deborah (Walter) Russell; two brothers, David (Debbie) and Jimmy Adkins; father-in-law, Willard Preston, Sr.; one brother-in-law, Willard (Cindy) Preston, Jr.; four sisters-in-law, Judy (Luther) Crisp, Cindy (Allen) Bond, Deborah Proffitt, and Renee Kravats; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service held at Hughesville Baptist Church. Interment in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors.
