Alvin Baldwin, on Thursday, the 13th inst., departed from this life at the advanced age of 81 years. While on our streets Wednesday, he was attacked with apoplexy, and was borne to his home in a fainting condition. His stroke combined with heart failure, was the cause of his death. Deceased leaves a wife, and six children – Mrs. Ella Cloyes, Mrs. Linus Fuller, Miss Julie and Charles of this place, David Baldwin of Oneida, and Jonathan Baldwin of Canasaraga. Mr. Baldwin has resided in this vicinity all his life, having been born two miles east of here in the town of Lenox. He belonged to the Democratic party. He was an honest, industrious, energetic citizen, and will be greatly missed by his friends and neighbors. His funeral was held from his late home Saturday afternoon, Rev. S. A. Chubbuck officiating. Interment was made in Perryville cemetery.
