Herbert Edward Butler, 85, of Farmington, and a former long-time resident of the Little Rock area, went to be with his Lord on December 28, 2006. Herbert was born on February 27, 1921 in Springhill, Arkansas, a son of the late Otis Felix Butler and Ludie Tarpley Butler. He was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church and a retired engineer from the U. S. Department of Agriculture, with 30 years of service. Herbert was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Glen Butler, in 1965, and his wife, Ann Bailey Butler in 2000, two sons, Baby Boy Butler, and Jimmy Dale Butler, a daughter, Martha Kay Kuhn, and three brothers, Warren, Gordon, and Brian Butler.

He is survived by his children Gail Coston and her husband, Ray, and Nancy Bryant, all of Springdale, David Butler and his wife, Trish, of Bearden, Arkansas, Lela Taskey and her husband, Bob, of Maumelle, Mark Buchanan and his wife, Cindy, of Monroe, Louisiana, Patti Shell of Little Rock, and Kathi Rumbaoa and her husband, Sam, of St. Louis. He also cherished his 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Kitchens and her husband, Harold, and Ann Mattern, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, (501)224-8300 in Little Rock, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 1, 2007, with Mr. Mike Harris officiating, and music provided by Mr. Mark Buchanan. Interment will be at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home.
