Chris A. Desch, 85, of 1940 S. College St., formerly of 410 [sic, 401?] W. Reynolds St., died at 10:35 p.m. Saturday at Haven Nursing Home.

Born in Springfield, Oct. 9, 1892 [sic, 1891], he was the son of Joseph A. and Katherina Weiss Desch.

Mr. Desch was a life-long resident of Springfield.

For many years, he was employed by Knoedler Bakery as a driver-salesman.

A veteran of World War I, he was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Church and Western Catholic Union.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and four sisters.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Louise) May, of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Services were at SS. Peter and Paul's Church.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
