Shirley Abbott, age 96, passed away on May 12, 2020. She was born on July 8, 1923 in Howell to Archer Mouilso and Ethel Tattan. Shirley spent her younger years in Howell. Shirley met Jesse Abbott and they were married in Detroit in 1942. The couple made their home in Oak Park, where they raised their family. Shirley was an avid bowler and was known for her homemaking skills, especially enjoying cooking and sewing. After Jesse retired, they moved to Lake Leelenau and cherished their time there.
Beloved wife of the late Jesse, who passed away in 2004. Loving mother of Richard (Cathy) Abbott, Roger (Rose) Abbott and Randy (Donna) Abbott. Proud grandmother of Maureen (Jeff) Wolfe, Gary Abbott, Kerri (Ryan) Sills, Joshua Abbott, Timothy (Bobbi) Abbott, Adam Abbott, Amy (Steve) Langford, Nathaniel Abbott and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by five siblings.
There will be a memorial at a later date at St. Mary’s in Lake Leelenau.
