Gery W. Donovan, age 59, passed away June 15, 2020, at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI.
He was born January 24, 1961 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late Yvonne and Dennis Donovan.
Gery is a 1983 graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point. He honorably served the country in the Army. He served 8 years and was honorably discharged shortly before the Gulf War began.
Gery is the loving father of Jackie M. Donovan and Joseph M. Donovan; beloved significant other of Debbie Steffen; dearest brother of Dennis P. Donovan (Karla), Colleen D. Carboni (Ashlee Patten) and James M. Donovan (Scott Bruce); he is previously married to Kathy Pewitt Latondress.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 20 10 am, SS John and Paul Catholic Church, 7777 28 Mile Rd, Washington, MI 48094. Gathering of family and friends to begin at 9:30 am, please be seated after extending condolences to the family.
The interment of Gery’s ashes will take place in Chattanooga, TN at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, 11 am, Monday, July 27, military honors to be rendered by the Army Honor Guard.
