Word was received Sunday of the death of Mrs. Bellsina Allen at Wichita, aged 63 years. Mrs. Allen was the mother of A. D. Allen. The remains were brought here for interment and funeral services. A large number of friends gathered to express their love for the dead and sympathy for the living. Mrs. Allen was born in Carroll county, Ohio, August 19, 1832. She married Thompson Allen in 1852. Four sons and one daughter blessed this union. The family came to Humboldt in 1884. Mr. Allen died several years ago. Mrs. Allen united with the M.E. Church in 1848 and for over fifty years had lived a consistent Christian life. Before her death she arranged for her funeral and either in person or by letter addressed each of her children, thanking them for their care of her and exhorting them to live so that they would all meet again in a heavenly home.
