TOTTEN, Wilfred Harvey
A political activist passed away at the age of 90 on December 24, 2017, in Nicaragua. While living in Canada he was a Trade Unionist, was involved in the NDP, Friends of Cuba, Tools for Peace and the Peace Movement. "Harvey" fell in love with Nicaragua, making it his home in the late 70's. He worked with rural communities with limited resources. With help of Canadian friends and his own ability, he was able to take to Nicaragua educational projects, environmental ideas, and agricultural systems. Javier, as he was called by his Spanish friends was not only in solidarity but also an innovator, a lover of literature and a political activist who created opportunities for the people around him. His family and friends will always remember him.
