Parents: John & Hannah Saunders
She married Edward Adams on 11 APR 1707 in Milton, Norfolk, Massachusetts.

Rachel's father, John Sander, and her mother, Hannah Penniman (the daughter of Joseph Penniman and Waiting Robinson) were married in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts on October 15, 1692 by the Rev. Moses Fiske.

1. Samuel A. Bates, Vital Records of Braintree, Massachusetts, 1640-1793, p.671, says Rachel Saunders was born in Braintree on 18 September, 1685

2. Records of the town of Braintree, 1640-1793, p. 741, says she was married in Braintree:

"Edward Adams & Rachel Sanders were married ye eleventh day of April 1706 by John Wilson Esqr"

There are two other questions to which I do not have a definite answer. One is the question of her maiden name: Saunders or Sanders. It may have been one of those names that is spelled one way or another on different occations. For what it is worth, I have been using Sanders.

The other question is her mother's maiden name: Dutton or Penniman.
