ASSONET – Charles E. Lyons, age 77 of Assonet, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Charles was the beloved husband of the late Janice Marie (Tolley) Lyons and the son of the late Charles A. Lyons and the late Mary A. (Cambra) Lyons.
Charles was a graduate of Apponequet High School and was part of the first ever graduating class. Prior to retiring, Charles worked for JJ Nissen as a delivery man. He was also a member of the Local Teamsters Union.
He is survived by his children: Charles F. Lyons (wife Cynthia) of E. Taunton and Deborah Lyons of Taunton; stepsons: Mark Carr and Curtis Carr, both of Assonet; siblings: William J. Lyons of Maine and Veronica Remedis of Assonet; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and nieces & nephews.
Due to the new restrictions implemented by Gov. Baker and the Diocese of Fall River in response to the COVID/19 virus outbreak, Charles’ funeral services will be private for the Immediate Family only.
