Gerald "Jerry" A. Monnette, 86, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020. He was born on August 23, 1933, in Oconto, WI to Fred "Alfred" and Olive (Brabant) Monnette.


On July 7, 1956, Jerry married Dolores Fiedorowicz in Crivitz, WI.


He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany from 1947 to 1959 as a cook's helper and rifle maintainer. Jerry helped his dad in the blacksmith shop in Lena, WI. He spent most of his employment as a small engine repairman.


In his younger years, he enjoyed playing drums in numerous local bands. He loved polka music and fixed accordions and concertinas. Jerry belonged to the Accordion Club, and enjoyed their monthly gatherings. He and Dolores loved going to polka dances.


He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Michelle and Daniel Schreiber;

his sisters: Arlene, Shirley Lasley, Arnelda Weigelt, and Sandra (Joe) Block;

nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores; and his sister Yvonne "Bonnie" Fye.


Visitation will be held at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23; followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
