Orval I. Evans, 97, Anderson, died July 24, 2006, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus, Anderson.
He was born Aug. 5, 1908, in Hamilton County and resided in Anderson. Orval retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 43 years of service.
He was a 1928 graduate of Noblesville High School and attended Butler University.
He was a member of Central Christian Church in Anderson where he received the honor of Elder Emeritus.
He is survived by his son, David A. and wife Donna Evans of New Castle; two grandsons, Duane of New Castle and Darren of Fortville; three great-granddaughters, Denise, Tiffany and Halee; and one great- grandson, Austin. He is also survived by one sister, Martha A. Gang of Noblesville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude A. (Hines) Evans; three sisters, Oma Irene Montgomery, Loretta Margaret Gatewood and Milda Ethel Williams.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with Dr. Audrey Borschel officiating. Burial will be in Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the South Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church or The Christian Center.
