Funeral Service for Mary Wandler, 90, of New England, will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Bill Ruelle celebrating. Burial will be at St. Pius Cemetery in Schefield.

Visitation for Mary will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service held at 6:00 p.m.

Mary passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at St. Benedict's Health Center in Dickinson.

Mary Schulz was born October 4, 1929 in Stark County, ND, to Joseph Schulz and Anna (Kubischta) Schulz. After several years on the farm near Lefor, she moved with her family to the E6 Ranch near New England. She attended school in New England graduating from St. Mary's High School. She attended Dickinson Teachers College and obtained her teaching certificate. Mary taught at several area country schools. It was during this time that she married Alphonse Wandler on June 28, 1949 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in New England. The couple was blessed with 11 children, Dwight, Daryl, Faye, Sharon, Donald, Dean, David, Doyle, Rena, Amy, and Daniel.

Mary had a passion for sewing, crocheting, knitting, and gardening. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and was able to play songs on the organ by ear. Mary had a great sense of humor and always had a one-liner ready. She had an eye for necklaces and lipstick and was considered the Safety Pin Queen. Mary was a member of St. Pius Verein.

Mary's family is forever grateful for the care she received at Evergreen and St. Benedict's Healthcare Center.
Mary is survived by her children, Dwight Wandler, Daryl (Phyllis) Wandler, Faye (Donald) Pavlicek, Sharon (Dean) Ficek, Donald Wandler, Dean (Leslie) Wandler, David Wandler, Doyle (Paula) Wandler, Rena (Tony) Biazzo, Amy (Allan) Urlacher, and Daniel Wandler; 34 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Philip Dukart; brother, Pete Schulz; sister, Rose Nass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alphonse; brothers, William, Tony, Louie, Ted, Nick, Alfred, and Adam; sisters, Katie, Clara, Betty, Margaret, and Magdelene
