He was a firefighter for the Southwest Fire District and had also worked for the Deer Run Academy. He was a member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God and American Legion Post 499.
Survived by sons, Todd (Dee Ann) Birch of Pulaski, Tenn, and Andy (Milyssa) Birch of New Haven; daughters, Gina (Raymond) Jones, and Sonia (Steve) Knepper both of New Haven; two brothers, and one sister; ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah in 1981.
Services were entrusted to Covington Funeral Home of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
