He was BORN 10/20/1925, son of late M/M. Hedley Samford. Married Lola Virginia Luckey 8/21/1947 at Ben Arnold. He served in U.S. Marines in WW-2 and member of the Milano VFW. Worked as service manager at Gaither Motor Co.; shop foreman for Gest Chevrolet Co.; and had been a feed salesman; manager of Rockdale U-Tote'M Store. At time of death he was a route manager for Houston Chronicle and in the hog business.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. Lola Virginia Samford of Rockdale; 3 sons, Larry Albert Jackson of Rockdale, George Richard Samford of Taylor, and James Gregg Samford of Rockdale; 2 daughters, Mrs. Gloria Claudette Williams of Rockdale and Mrs. Linda Adean Luxton of Danbury; half-brother, James Edgar Young of Austin; 8 grandchildren.
