TYLER — Services for Ruth Evelyn Anderson are scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2020 11:00 am at Bethlehem First Baptist Church with Rev. M. C. Muse, Sr. officiating and Rev. Orenthia Mason, eulogist. Interment will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brooks Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors.
Ruth Evelyn Finley was born in Temple Texas to Felix and Olivia Finley on September 5, 1930. She graduated from Dunbar High School and after graduation attended Prairie View A&M College where she earned a B.A. Degree.
Ruth was married to Willie J. Anderson on October 21, 1954 which began a 57 year marriage. To this union two children were born, Michael and Marchele.

She was a faithful member of Bethlehem First Baptist Church.
Ruth was a teacher for Tyler ISD for 36 years. After retirement she continued to substitute for an additional 17 years. She was also a proud member of the Tyler Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willie J. Anderson, and brother, Charles Finley.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; Michael L. Anderson and Marchele L. Anderson; Grandson Adryll Warren and granddaughter Akila Anderson, niece, Paulette Danzy and a host of other relatives and friends.
