James J. Ludlow, 67, of Fords, N.J., passed away on June 26, 2020, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway.
Born in Jersey City, James resided in Fords for the past 25 years. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Jersey City and attended Notre Dame and St. Peter's Universities.
James was employed as a police officer with the Port Authority of NY and NJ at Newark Liberty International Airport for 25 years. He was a member of the Port Authority Softball League, the Jersey City Police Auxiliary, the Jersey City Police Emerald Society and the Metuchen K of C at Our Lady of Peace. James was a 9/11 responder at the World Trade Center.
He loved music, Notre Dame football, bowling, the NY Mets, Cape May and Hawaii. Jim had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary Ludlow.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years, Deborah, a retired Jersey City police officer and his daughters, Heather N. Ludlow and her fiancé, Josh Batelli and Brianne M. Ludlow.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, N.J. 08863. Funeral services will be on Monday, June 29, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords. Private entombment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park Mausoleum.
