Joseph Francis Jude “Joey” Kallenbach passed away on June 26, 2020 at Bon Secours (St. Francis) hospital in Greenville, S.C. after having heart issues for two weeks. Joey was born February 4, 1960 at Prisma Hospital (Easley Baptist Hospital) in Easley, S.C. He was the youngest child out of six children. He was the son of Leonard Oscar and Simonne Cote Kallenbach. His maternal grandparents were Joseph Francois and Eva Mondville Cote of Biddeford, Maine. His paternal grandparents were Clarence Leonard and Alma Hahn Kallenbach of Grand Mound, Iowa. Joey was a graduate of Carolina High School and Greenville Technical College. He was very sociable and belonged to many organizations in the Upstate.
He had a beautiful singing voice which he used regularly at Mt. View Baptist Church. He married Sharon Lynn Powell on October 13, 2012 at Fairview Baptist Church in Liberty, South Carolina. Joey was an employee of Pickens County School District in the Maintance Department. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Richard Charles (Dikki) Kallenbach and nephew Ryan Matthew Crum.
He leaves behind his wife of the home and four sisters, Joy K. Dickard (Keith) of Liberty, S.C., Bonnie K. Sherbert (Ed) of Mauldin, S.C., Tana K. Crum (Roger) of Easley, S.C. and Dale K. Rigdon of Travelers Rest, S.C. He also leaves behind 14 nephews and nieces and 18 great nephews and nieces. He had no children and there is no marker for his ashes much to the sorrow of his family.
