He had a beautiful singing voice which he used regularly at Mt. View Baptist Church. He married Sharon Lynn Powell on October 13, 2012 at Fairview Baptist Church in Liberty, South Carolina. Joey was an employee of Pickens County School District in the Maintance Department. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Richard Charles (Dikki) Kallenbach and nephew Ryan Matthew Crum.
He leaves behind his wife of the home and four sisters, Joy K. Dickard (Keith) of Liberty, S.C., Bonnie K. Sherbert (Ed) of Mauldin, S.C., Tana K. Crum (Roger) of Easley, S.C. and Dale K. Rigdon of Travelers Rest, S.C. He also leaves behind 14 nephews and nieces and 18 great nephews and nieces. He had no children and there is no marker for his ashes much to the sorrow of his family.
