Mrs. Orson Smith, wife of the former president of the Merchants Loan and Trust company bank, died suddenly yesterday at French Like Springs, Ind.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith had long been residents of Chicago and lived for many years at 50 Bellevue place. Mrs. Smith was one of the founders of the Illinois Training School for Nurses and made a strenuous fight for the nurses against the county commissioners in 1911. She was the aunt of Capt. Henry J. Reilly of THE TRIBUNE staff.
