He was born August 26, 1927 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Floyd James Lukins and Letha Lewis Lukins. In the Navy in 1945, he served aboard USS Wm. M. Wood. He worked as a disc jockey, then went on to work for IBM for 32 years as field engineer. He was a rock hound and silversmith, and had a large private collection of minerals. In his retirement he enjoyed sharing these interests with the students at Bonita Elementary School.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Amy, son Terry, brother James, and sister Joyce Vedmore.
He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Valerie Breen, son Tracy, granddaughters Rebecca and Jessica, son-in-law James Breen, along with many other family, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was loved by us all, and we will miss him and remember him always.
Visitation at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens on Monday May 13th, 6-8 pm. Funeral May 14th at 1 pm.
