Billy S. Green

Billy S. Green, 88, of the McConnell Community in Martin, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Green were held Saturday, May 28, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens in Union City. Rev. Donald Doster and Paul Adams officiated the services.
Mr. Green was a retired electrician and farmer. He was also the oldest member of McConnell Baptist Church. Mr. Green was born August 27, 1916 in Obion County to the late Alonzo Walker Green, Sr. and Annie Stallins Green. In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Kimberlin Green, who died March 30, 1989; a son, Glynn W. Green; three brothers, A.W. Green, Jr., Roy Green, and James Green; and two sisters, Zula Pierce and Christine Pierce.
Mr. Green is survived by three daughters, Alma Jean Green of South Fulton, Judy Green of South Fulton, and Libby Stroud of Jackson; a son, Billy Mac Green of Charlotte, North Carolina; three sisters, Mary Ellen Ashby of South Fulton, Ruth McAlister of Hermitage, Tennessee, and Bettye Williamson of Fulton; a brother, Charles Green of Swansea, Illinois; special friend, Margaret Dunavant of Dukedom; and one granddaughter, Savannah Stroud of Jackson.
