Hiram Alonzo Stalter was the son of David K. Stalter and Prudence Viola Derringer. He was born in Wyandot County, Ohio on 11 Apr 1855 and died in Sapulpa, Creek County, Oklahoma on 30 Jun 1934. He moved from Ohio to Kansas in the 1870s, along with his father, settling in Cowley County. It was there that he met Anna Ellarine Holmes whom he married on 24 Jan 1880. By 1900, the couple had moved to Oklahoma. "Lon" and "Annie" had four children: Blanche, Bertha, William, and an infant child who died before 1900.
