Glen Ackerson, 77, of Cathedral City died Jan. 10, 2000, in Rancho Mirage. He was born March 3, 1922, to Charlie and Lenna Bell Frye Ackerson in Pawnee, IIIinois.


Mr. Ackerson was a car salesman for Mac Magruder Chevrolet in Palm Springs. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Palm Springs Elk Lodge #1905, American Legion Post #763 in Desert Hot Springs, American Legion Post #495 in Cathedral City, Palm Springs Moose Lodge #2008, Moose Lodge #167 in Yucca Valley and of Desert Veteran's Memorial Association.


Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Ackley of Moline, Illinois, Evelyn Disinger of Baldwinsville, New York, and Laura Jamerson of Cottonwood; two sons, Ronald Charles Adams of Springfield, Illinois, and David Decker of Anna Maria Island, Florida;

10 grandchildren; and two step sisters, Victoria and Melissa Sainz, both of Raymond, Washington.


Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Palm Springs Mortuary in Cathedral City. Services will at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ramon Chapel, Palm Springs Mortuary in Cathedral City. Entombment will be in Palm Springs Mausoleum. The family suggests donations be made to World War II Memorial, P.O. Box 96766, Washington, D.C. 20090-6766.
